Capping off 2009

Tue Oct 27, 2009, 11:43 AM
Whew!!!

We all made it through most of 2009 so far. It was a rough year to say the least. I have been busy with some clients, so some afternoons have been taken up, so less time for artwork. But I will be up and running soon.

Thanks to all who have helped with comments and critiques. Keep 'em coming. It only makes me better. Thanks to all who have done art trades with me, and those who posted up fan art of some of my characters. That is worth more than gold to me.

I have a new Wacom tablet, so I will be posting up some rough drawings in the scrap book, and any who would like to help me out with critiques, your words will be legend in my mind.

Alright folks. It is up to us to try to finish this year with a positive BANG. Get some art up there, and I will return the favor by helping you out as well (if needed).

Inspirations

Wed Jul 22, 2009, 8:21 AM
Another rare journal entry.

Thanks to all you artists who have been helping me with my pieces. Everybody is truely an inspiration to me.

I had lots of fun at the last Acen a few months ago. Lot of fun commissions too. I met lots of new and interesting people. So overall, it was a fun weekend.

I will be leaving for the Black Hills Bike Rally in Sturgis in a few weeks. From Chicago, it is over 1000 mile trek on the bike [link] A week of crazy parties, crazy people, and family. I can't wait. Growing out some facial hair to look the biker part, then off it comes back to the professional life when I get back.

I'm also going to get into a second martial arts. Tang Soo Do is what I have been training in, but will be starting Shaolin Kung Fu in late August. It is a good way to keep stress out of my life.

Teaching a children's art class part time in the evenings is also a great way to keep your stress off. Watching raw talent come to full bloom from a six year old is something to behold. Try it sometime. God's work I tell ya.

I am revising my website. It's not completed, but check it out if you would like. [link]

Sweeping the dust off!!!

Sat Apr 11, 2009, 2:36 PM
I'm back, and with a few drawings almost ready for posting. The past 6 months have been a blur, and my time for personal drawings became less and less. In the past few months I have been busy developing two business's websites while working on a third's entire 2009 marketing campaign. A few logo design commissions thrown into the mix kept me away from pencil on paper work for myself.

I will be heading to Chicago's 2009 Anime Central in early May with two of my close friends :icondcpanda: and :iconjhim43: at the PandaRage Press booth in the artist's alley. I had a blast last year meeting new people, and can't wait for this year.

Weather is warmer so that means the bike is out, chromed and polished. Some might think different, but I hope 2009 will be a great year!!!

PEACE!

Generosity

Wed Sep 10, 2008, 12:11 PM
I had so much fun looking at so many artists here on DA, and so many of you have help with the inspiration. With the colder seasons coming, I have GOTZ to give out some sunshine:

Any of you watchers that will be having a birthday sometime soon, please let me know. I'm going to give out B-Day drawings for all you faithful watchers and commenters. I just feel generous, and wish to spread the kindness, and also as a thanks for the critiques. If your B-day doesn't come for quite sometime, still let me know, so I can mark it, and will be getting a drawing from me on your special day.
Rules and regulations for B-day drawings:
1: I'll do a drawing of one of your characters of your choice, or will do one of mine according to the request
2: Your drawing will be posted on the day of your B-day, and if requested, will send higher res via email.
3: No nudity, rude, or gory parodies.
4: Will only do B-day drawings from watchers. No random requests.

On a side note:
I will be working on a few commisions for a friend of a friend. These are characters for his game he runs called Vampire the Masquerade. I'm not much of a dark gothic artist, so this will be new to me. Each of these characters I'll post up once I get these done. Of coarse I'll do them on my own leasure.

Are You Kidding me?!?

Tue Aug 26, 2008, 7:33 AM
Pulling the motorcycle out to head to work today, I saw my yard is full of fallen leaves....that's right...FALLEN LEAVES!! Distraught I look up to see the sorry sap gettin' ready for fall. I really don't think Summer exists. I think it's thrown on the calendar to let us have a moment of anticipation, then when the moment comes, you already see the back to school sales, clearances on swimsuits, and leaf blowers starting up in the morning.

But alas, I look at the bright side of things.
Fall means one of the craziest and coolest holidays mankind has in their possesion. HALLOWEEN!!! Other than conventions and occational ren faire visits, when can you show off your crazy chainmail armor and weapons or your funny gorilla suit holding a baby bottle. Or even that old Skeletor (from He-Man) get-up that you wore for the past 3 times.

See how I did that. No negative thoughts. It just takes too much energy to think in such patterns.
