Lets continue the story:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
“AHHHHHHHHH!!!” I yelped, trying to put my best game face on. I acted like I was in severe pain. I almost botched it by limping with my left leg, then noticing that some blood from my right arm was peppering my right leg, I limped with my right. The xeno that carried me stopped, and said something in that Tau gibberish to that decorated leader named Ni’zuul. The group stopped, and I told them with the loss of blood and my hurt leg and ribs, I needed an extra day to recover. I even told them that I would be honored to help with the transport of that “thing’s” soul to help the Tau (I lied). Hopefully that could get them comfortable enough to let their guard down for a while.

What was I doing? I’m trusting everything to a xeno that I met a day or two ago. After kidnapping me, she lead us in this direction with no remorse or second thought. What did she really do for me? Other than the fact she patched me up in the beginning.

I saved her from those ugly squigs!!
I saved her from bleeding to death in the catacombs!!!
I saved her from getting killed by that Ork Kommando!!

And in return, I get put into a locked room, awaiting possession from a creature from the warp. Believe me, the doubts are growing, and I really don’t have anymore to loose. My parents and siblings are dead. I have no wife or child awaiting my return after the war.

After being put back into the room to recover, THAT is all I thought about. Why wait for hope when hope was lost after my brother was executed in front of me. Was this the Emperor’s will?

After a few hours, fell asleep, only to be awaken by the door opening up. It was another one of those xeno medics. He began to examine my right leg.

There must be some crazy cocktail of medicine that is quite effective to these Xeno. The medic looking at my leg fell unconscious and Xin was standing behind him with a syringe. I never heard or saw her come in. She hushed me before I could say anything, and handed me a Tau weapon. This was larger than her pistol she had before, but it was still light and balanced. She held a backpack with equipment.

“Can you walk?” she said as she strapped the pack to my back.
“Yes, but what abou…..”
“Can you run?” she said to me while she stared at my eyes.
“I…….think I can, but I’d like…….”
She cut me off one more time by pulling me along out of the room. Another Tau soldier lay unconscious on the floor down the next hallway.

She snuck me outside. “I can delay them long enough for you to escape,” she looked back to make sure we weren’t followed, “I wish you the best, and hopefully you can find your way back.” Xin’Vauk touched my face gently. Maybe this was a way to say goodbye in their crazy culture, or she was just checking my wounds. Before I could read more into it, she turned to run back into the plant.

“Xin’Vauk, STOP!!!!” I yelled back. She stopped and turned back, reluctantly I might add. I told Xin that I can still help her people by heading to the caves to gather the plants. If Tau facial expression could show confusion, she was doing a good job. I think she wasn’t going for it until I said, “I have nothing left to loose,” I paused, “except the chance to help that dying planet for the….the….”
She finished my phrase by saying with a smile, “The Greater Good.”

Xin disappeared into the old treatment plant. I guess she was going to delay them for me to get a head start. I began to run, guessing the caves were towards the smoke in the Northwest. Then I heard her yell to me, “Wait up, Gue’la.” She ran from the building towards me with the same type of weapon she gave me. She wasn’t alone either. Two others accompanied her. A shorter, older Tau xeno that didn’t look like a soldier and a Stealth Suit elite that moved gracefully in that powered armor.

“These two believe this can be done,” she said with pride, “this is Fio’ui Kai-Faan and his loyal guard. They want to help”

What do I do:
-1)Bring them along. They could be of some use to the cause. The short one looks more like a scientist than a warrior. He might slow us down. But he might know what we’re looking for in the caves. Also, the stealth suit elite looks like he can handle himself in battle, not to mention that he is packing some firepower. On the downside, trusting two more xeno followers might be my downfall. Especially the elite soldier Xin’Vauk brought. He looks pretty loyal to his commander, and they could turn me in, and punish Xin.

-2)Tell them to stay behind to delay any pursuit of Xin and myself. It could buy us lots of time. Xin’Vauk seems to trust them, and if she does, then maybe they can help by heading back to delay the others. But I don’t know too much what these subterranean plants look like and the scientist does. How many kinds could there be? Xin might know. I will also lose a confident warrior that can cloak and give us more protection.

I will close the votes on October 17th.
